This morning, after sending my girls to their school, I noticed that today was the last day to sew along ruffled apron for Ruffles 2013 at see kate sew.
So, I decided to make one. I started from cutting patterns (already printed out, phew), then cut fabrics, modified pattern little bit ( shortned bodice lengths and widths), sewed and had a photoshoot.
You know how busy it was, right?
I chose same fabrics I used for Super Totes, which I finished yesterday. Main fabric is Sunshine Linen Cotton and Essex linen for contrast fabric.
I wanted to keep it simple and clean, cause it had ruffles of course. So I chose linen blend fabrics. Kate recommended to use lightweight cotton fabric, but it worked.
I love color combination of yellow and grey, and gray linen ruffle which I put on the waist looks chic, doesn't it?
Today, my husband came home early, so I could ask him to take photos of me. If he didn't come home early, maybe I couldn't take pictures and couldn't upload them... I think I need to find the remote of my camera and practice photoshoot myself before Selfish Sewing Week starts!
And from here, not related to apron at all..
Conversation between me and A at dinner table.
A: Mama, what do you want for Christmas?
Me: A serger.
A: Mama, you have to clean up your sewing room every time after you finish sewing. Unless, Santa will not give you a serger.
Me: Okay...
She is totally right. Okay. I will clean up my sewing room tomorrow.
Happy Sewing!

Very cute! I also love grey and yellow together - but only on other people, because yellow looks awful on me. Do you think if I tidy my sewing room Santa will bring me a serger too...?!
