After coming back from one week trip and no sewing, I REALLY wanted to sew. When I started to sew last night, I felt like " Now I'm home!". I've only sewn for seven months or so, but it became the important part of my life.
And kids need sometime to recover. T had been sick through the trip, now she's getting better. Then, A got sick from last night. She had a fever and cough. During the trip, we were so tired so we couldn't wake up in the morning. We woke up at 9am or so. And it still continues. Today, I, A and T woke up at 9am. Before the trip, T always used to wake up before 7am!
So, I think we should spend this week really modest, not going to the pool, not having play dates, just staying at home and enjoy being at home;). (Maybe kids can't endure that, just staying at home is kind of torture for them)
Now, let's talk about some sewing!
Of course, you know about YCI Pants, right? (If not, you MUST check it out here at Suburbia Soup, ASAP!)
This is my first YCI Pants. Well, actually this is the second one...I made one just after Venus released this pattern, but the fabric I used was just bulky and it turned out to be failure><
So, officially this is the first one. I knew this would be so cute on my little one, T. This time I used really light and soft fabric which turned out to be success!
I got this fabric from Go To Patterns. They had fabric destash sale and I got some fabrics then. This is one of them. This one is single gauze, it is strechey and little tricky. But this was really good choice for this pair of pants, I think.
(This pic shows of her cheek line that I LOVE SO MUCH! Isn't it adorable? I really don't want her to lose it!)
The pattern is really well written and easy to make. I could make this one in almost two hours from cutting fabric to finished garment. The length was a bit long for T, so I cut hems before finishing hems.
T only had short shorts, but she needed bit longer ones. 'Cause she falls so often, her knees need to be covered. Ha!
I will difinitely make another one! I've been eyeing on Nautical version..
T is kind of always running away from me when I'm photoshooting..
What's next? Maybe I should get ready for KCW. It's gonna start from next Monday! Wow! They have new website, which looks so great. It's gonna be fun!

Happy sewing!

They look great!!! Oh my gosh... does T stand for "tiny", because she is just sooo cute I wanna squeeze her! I find lighter weight fabrics works best. I can't wait to see your nautical pants! ;)
Thanks so much for trying out the pattern!!!

Thank YOU for sharing this great pattern, Venus!! Oh, yes! She is in the cutest moment! I know she will turn into terrible monster in September, so I need to enjoy this moment!
I also made your recipe of mashed eggplant and it was sooo yummy! Will make more!

I'm so in love with your floral printed version of YCI pants (and that cheeks ;). It looks cute and comfy too.
And how lucky I'm to hop over here and got to know these pants with the free pattern... My girl will love it for sure!
