Yay! I made a dress for ME! This is #2 garment for Moms Clothes Weeks!
I think I have a FLAT body unlike hilly ones most of you have (and I'm envy of). So, dress like this fits better than dresses like Washi ( tight fitting type). I finished my first Washi, but it still needs to be adjusted.
This dress is bit big for me yet, but this is loose so the fitting doesn't matter so much. It doesn't have darts on the bust!
The pattern is from Japanese Sewing Book "Adult Couture Sweet dress book 23 style dress book". I got an idea of adding ruffles onto Roller Skate Tunic from this book too.
Fabric is nani IRO (I think this is the right way to write, cause their website is using this;) Little Letter from Fabricworm. I bought this because it was on sale! Wahoo!
I have to admit, nani IRO is great. It's soft, beautiful and still sturdy enough. I was determined to make this dress when I bought this fabric. And it turned out really great, I think.
And what's the my favortite part of this dress? The pockets!
I got some new patterns for me. So I will share some more sewing for me! If you need to sew some clothes for yourself, please join our Flickr group HERE! And we will have Selfish Sewing Week (hosted by imagine gnats and Made with Moxie) in September!
Please click HERE to see which link parties this post is (going to) participating in.
Happy Selfish Sewing!
I'm SO jealous you can wear dresses like this! It would look like a moo-moo on me. :( Such a cute-cute dress, Shino!

That dress looks absolutely fantastic! You sound like you probably have the perfect body for those Japanese women's patterns. Mine is too... uh... hilly (and not in the right places!).

Okay, hilly was not right word, I think. You have beautifully curved body :) And mine is all flat! Ha! Well, everyone has beautiful body in their own style, right? Thanks, marisa!
